Who Is Hindi People? History & Orgin

The origins of the Hindi people can be traced back to the Indo-Aryan migration into the India. The Indo-Aryan migrants were a group of people who spoke the early form of Sanskrit and descended from the Aryans. After settling down in India the Indo-Aryan people mixed with the local population and their language evolved into what is now known as Hindi. Hindi is a direct descendant of an early form of Vedic Sanskrit, emerged in 7th century.

Between the 8th and 10th centuries, Afghans, Persians and Turks adopted Old Hindi, which evolved from Sanskrit, as their accepted accent The language again evolved, adopting loanwords from Arabic and Persian. They make up about 25% of the Hindi vocabulary used today. The Hindi language was created by the British Colony, over 200 years ago.

Hindi has been used as a literary language since the 12th century. However,the development of proseonly began in the 18th century, marking the emergence of Hindi as a distinct literary language. Grierson (1906) divided Hindi into two groups: Eastern Hindi and Western Hindi.

Hindi is also spoken by the large population of Madheshis (people originally from northern India but who migrated to Nepal for hundreds of years) in Nepal.
